Branding for a Roman pizzeria in Budapest, Hungary

_______

Founder of much-loved Budapest pizzeria Igen,Nóri Vidó, has blessed our city with another wonderful eatery, this time a Roman pizzeria in Pozsonyi street called IDE (here in English). Here you can enjoy “pizza al taglio”, the special square pizza featuring many different toppings, cut with scissors, and served fresh. We also had the pleasure of designing the identity of Igen, so we were very happy to work with Nóri on another great project. The identity of the two pizzerias are connected in some ways, but each has its own distinctive style. For IDE, we decided to go for a bit of a punkish style, using checkered booklet backgrounds and arrows, and rasterized images associated with Roma - from classical icons of the city like the Colosseum, to Vespas and Jude Law as the Pope. We had a lot of freedom to have fun and be creative, and we channeled it into all the items we designed, such as the takeaway boxes, stickers, menu, toilet signs, wax paper, a neon sign, and so on. Each item featured some ‘taste’ of popular Roman culture and style, setting the stage to enjoy the delicious pizza that transports you straight to the streets of Italy.
