logo & branding for a family run German restaurant

‘Das Leben ist ein Ponyhof‘ or as in English the saying goes ‘Life is a playground’. This is the motto of the family run German restaurant and event venue called Ponyhof. Formerly used as a horse ranch, the farmstead is situated in Gengenbach, a little town in the heart of southern Germany’s forests. The restaurant offers traditional, locally sourced ingredients in a contemporary manner with warmhearted service. The hospitality of the southern region is fused with witty, playful, modern details. In the logo we used a bust drawing of a horse, a stylized figure which recalls a knight chessman referring to the playful character of the venue.
We embedded horseshoes in the logotype because of the restaurant’s relation to horse-keeping and the symbol of protection, wealth and strength. The lucky charm appears in scale patterns on the menu and on different take-away products.
